GCEA submitted the following letter to the Board of Garrett County Commissioners and Garrett County Board of Education. In addition, the letter has been submitted to The Republican Newspaper and Cumberland Times News for publication.
This open letter addresses both teacher and ESP salaries in Garrett County, and the mandates of MD’s Blueprint to raise teacher salaries. The letter also addresses ongoing teacher shortages nationwide and proposes cooperation between GCEA, Garrett County Commissioners, and Garrett County Board of Ed to address inadequacies in teacher and ESP salaries.
