Ali Schilpp, Media Specialist

I have loved living and working in Garrett County for the past nine years. It has been a great privilege to work at Northern Middle as the media specialist and I am looking forward to sharing our school and student success stories. I am continually inspired by our students and strive to provide a school library that benefits every learner. I have a great appreciation for our dedicated and dynamic teachers and staff. This year has been very challenging considering the uncertainty of our school but has made me realize that I have an unwavering love for my school community. I greatly appreciate this recognition and know that so many educators are very deserving of the honor to represent our county. – Ali Schilpp
Ali Schilpp is a National Board-Certified Teacher and has been a library media specialist for 21 years. Her work experiences include libraries in Baltimore and Garrett County, Maryland. Ali strives to make the school library the heart of the school. A place to engage every learner and foster multiple literacies. She was School Library Journal’s 2018 School Librarian of the Year and received the 2019 Advocate Award from Frostburg’s Children’s Literature Centre. Ali earned a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology with K-12 certification from Towson University (2005) and a Bachelor’s Degree from Stevenson University (2000).
